Meet the Missionary
A Foundation in the Local Church
Â
Before launching Maku Missions, my ministry foundation was built through more than a decade of serving the local church. Formally ordained through Grace Baptist Church in Rogue River, Oregon, I have spent the last 10+ years in active ministry at Evergreen Baptist Church in Cashmere, Washington.
Serving long-term in the local body taught me the essentials of patient discipleship, biblical teaching, and relational ministry, all of which are vital for long-term impact in Japan.

Cross-Cultural Ministry & Leadership
Â
Alongside local church pastoral work, God opened doors for extensive global ministry across North America, Africa, and Asia. Over the years, this has included:
Â
-
Field Leadership: Leading and shepherding short-term mission teams into diverse cultural environments.
-
Equipping the Church: Teaching evangelism, discipleship strategies, and community outreach to local believers.
-
Pastor Training: Equipping, encouraging, and training indigenous pastors and ministry leaders in field settings.

Focus on Japan

Every step of this journey (from a decade of pastoral ministry in Washington to training leaders abroad) has served as practical preparation for Maku Missions. Cross-cultural ministry in Japan requires deep cultural respect, theological grounding, and relational persistence. Our family is committed to bringing this lifetime of training to bear in sharing the gospel and coming alongside the people of Japan.
